ANZSIN is a sub-group of the Australia and New Zealand Society of Nephrology. We are an Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) based special interest group in Interventional Nephrology. We encourage the setting of standards, training, experience/expertise along with safe and effective practice within Interventional Nephrology for Nephrologists primarily: addressing Renal Biopsy, Cuffed and non-Cuffed Catheter Insertion, Peritoneal Dialysis Catheter Insertion (nephrological), and Arterio-Venous Fistula formation (e.g. snuff box) and complication diagnosis and correction (e.g. Angioplasty and Stenting).
Along with Nephrologists we do involve (with active membership and participation) Haemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis access Surgeons and Interventional Radiologists as well as Dialysis Access Nurses.
In 2015 we started a professional link with the Asian dialysis access community – DAS (Dialysis Access Symposium) at their inaugural meeting held in Seoul. Next year in Nagoya, Japan at the second DAS we will further develop the ANZSIN network into Asia.
The American equivalent of us, ASDIN we partially modelled our-self upon – in order to set up a standard of Interventional Nephrology in Australia and New Zealand.
